gill
Duncan Gill, MD, Medical Director

Duncan graduated from Harvard College with a B.A. in Physical Sciences, obtained his M.D. from Saba University School of Medicine, and completed a Residency in General Psychiatry and Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Connecticut. He worked over three years as a full-time staff psychiatrist at Community Council of Nashua’s Child and Adolescent Program. During this time, he also performed on-call duties for Southern New Hampshire Medical Center’s Emergency Room, Behavioral Health Unit, and the general medical floors. He is Board Certified in both General and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

Outside of work, Dr. Gill enjoys playing basketball and volleyball, and is probably (though this has not been confirmed) the only child psychiatrist in New England who can dunk. He also enjoys playing electric and acoustic guitar.

walsh
Joseph R. Walsh, LCMHC, Program Director

Joe graduated from Cambridge College with a M.Ed. in Counseling Psychology in 1993. Since then he has served the New Hampshire and Massachusetts region as a Child and Family Therapist at Nashua Children’s Home, an Educational Liaison for Nashua’s Title 1 program, an Emergency Services Clinician in Lowell, MA, and as a Wellness Counselor in private practice. He also has experience as the founder and CEO of a small computer and business services company.

Joe’s extracurricular activities include a variety of sports (especially jiu-jitsu, basketball, baseball and tennis), cooking, and designing and constructing custom electric guitars and amplifiers.

Robert Cashen, LSW, Director of Operations

Bob graduated from Long Island University with a B. S. in Business Administration. He has accumulated 27 years experience working as a clinical social worker and case manager in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Robert also works at Community Council of Nashua in the Child and Adolescent Program as an intensive case manager. Other related experience includes being a senior supervisor at the Visitation Center and responsibilities for the on-call Emergency Services Program.

Bob has two grown sons. One is a service manager at a boatyard in Camden, Maine, and the other is a laser physicist in Southern California. He enjoys boating in Penobscot Bay in Maine, playing golf, and family trips to the west coast when opportunity arises.

Keri-L
Keri Lemmond, MD, Psychiatrist - Seacoast

Keri completed her undergraduate training and medical school in Texas, and her General Psychiatry Residency at Brown University. Since 2002, she has worked in multiple settings spanning the whole continuum of care, including inpatient treatment, outpatient treatment, and most recently as a Consultation-Liaison Psychiatrist at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center. In 2004, she was named "Top Doctor" by New Hampshire Magazine.

At DBHA, Keri is known for her down-to-earth style and infectious sense of humor. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, cycling, and gardening.

Cerissa
Cerissa Desrosiers, Doctoral Candidate, Clinical Coodinator - Seacoast

Cerissa is currently a Doctoral Candidate in Clinical Psychology at Antioch University, New England. As a Watch Officer with the Hurricane Island Outward Bound School, in Maine and the Florida Keys, teaching leadership, teamwork, self-efficacy and compassion; or a Residential Counselor at Nashua Children’s Home, much of her adult life has been dedicated to service and education, especially for at-risk youth. Cerissa also volunteers as a Disaster Action Team member for the American Red Cross, participating in both local and national disaster relief efforts.

Cerissa’s diverse interests include sailing (she’s a captain), firefighting, and competitive ice hockey. Needless to say, she’s a DBHA MVP!

Chris-W
Christopher White, BA, Site Coordinator/Counselor - Seacoast

Chris served as a residential counselor and Assistant Residential Director at Nashua Children’s Home, the area’s largest residential treatment organization, for over six years. At NCH, he made a reputation as a most steady, reliable and caring childcare worker as well as an invaluable administrator, supervising staff, assisting in residential intakes and discharges, hiring, and overseeing the day-to-day functioning of the agency. Chris’s dedication to serve youth and their families and belief in the collaborative educational mission of Direction comes through in his role as Site Coordinator of Direction’s Seacoast facility. Chris brings a wealth of experience and skill that is unique and extremely beneficial to the clients we serve.

Though Chris’s professional football days may be behind him (hopeful rumors of his return still circulate through the league each fall), he remains popular with the fans by preparing his famous wings and other game-day culinary favorites.

Sheelu
Shalini Joshi Flegal, MSW, LICSW, Therapist

Sheelu, as she is more commonly known, graduated from Boston University with a Masters degree in Social Work in 1999. She earned her license as an Independent Clinical Social Worker in June 2001. Since 1992, Sheelu has served the children and families of New Hampshire through her work at the Nashua Children’s Home (NCH). Beginning as a Residential Counselor, Sheelu became a Child and Family Therapist in 1999. In 2000, Sheelu assumed leadership of NCH’s fifty-bed Residential Program as its Director. Through her sixteen years of dedication to local families, Sheelu has become a highly respected professional and immensely valued member of the community.

Sheelu spends a good deal of her extra time chasing a toddler around, but also enjoys traveling, exercising in the great outdoors and watching baseball and football. She is by far the biggest Cheesehead in NH.

Lindsay
Lindsay Goldstein, M.Ed., LCMHC, Therapist

Lindsay graduated from Cambridge College with a M.Ed. in Mental Health Counseling in 2004. She is a certified School Guidance Counselor and has been in Special Education as a consultant, liaison, teacher and clinician for over ten years. Currently, she is working as the Educational Director and Clinical Liaison for the Cornerstones Day and Residential School, a Massachusetts 766 approved School designed for children ages 6-12 who require intensive psychiatric and educational treatment. She has been in this position for 9 years.

Outside of work, Lindsay enjoys a multitude of sports, including tennis, basketball and ping-pong. She has studied classical piano for 23 years, and enjoys travel – but not nearly as much as everyone at DBHA enjoys her amazing custom cakes, cookies, and other baked treats.

Kim--Small
Kim Bolling, Doctoral Candidate, Therapist

Kim is currently a Doctoral Candidate in Clinical Psychology at Antioch University, New England. She has worked at New Hampshire Hospital and as a neuropsychological technician at The Counseling Center of New Hampshire. Next year Kim will split her time between Direction and an internship at the Carson Center for Human Services in central Mass. Kim is also an accomplished singer and voice teacher, having sung professionally throughout the New England region.

Outside of work, Kim enjoys reading, hiking, and listening to and performing all kinds of music.

Rick
Ricard Alexis, Counselor

Ricard moved to Nashua in 2005 to continue developing his career in professional counseling and education. He has since been employed at the Nashua Children’s Home as a Residential Youth Counselor. Ricard previously enjoyed success as the Vice President and Program Planner of From Boys to Great Men, a nonprofit youth service organization in his home town of New Orleans, LA. Prior to that, Ricard served as a Student Worker at Project Return, and as an Instructor for Save the Youth, both in New Orleans. Building on his exemplary work in the south, Ricard has already distinguished himself as an exceptional resource to the youth of the Nashua area, and a most valued member of the Direction team.

As a native of the Big Easy, Ricard brings a well-appreciated dose of southern wisdom and hospitality to Direction. Jazz fans may even recognize his famous family name -- his ancestors figured prominently in the birth of America’s most cherished musical art form!

Chuck
Chuck Vorias, Counselor

Chuck is well known around Nashua as a skilled childcare worker. A School Counselor at the New Searles Elementary School since 2001, Chuck is relied upon to provide individual counseling covering personal, social and school related issues, preparing students for re-integration into the classroom. He also conducts classroom lessons covering topics related to creating a unified, safe school culture and climate, and facilitates small groups covering anger management, social skills, divorce, friendship, and bereavement. Chuck provides crisis intervention and mediation with students, and trains and facilitates fifth grade students in the Peer Mediation Program. Prior to entering education, Chuck served eight years as a Residential Counselor, Crises Worker, and Supervisor at Nashua Children’s Home.

People who know Chuck say his devotion to his rapidly growing family, and counseling, may be the only things greater than his devotion to the Boston Celtics!

Molly
Molly Viglione, Counselor

Since her graduation from Keene State College with a BA in Psychology in 2003, Molly has worked in a variety of mental health care settings, including a hospital, a group home, a residential program, and in the Vermont Department of Corrections. Most recently, she worked as a Case Manager at Community Council of Nashua’s Child and Adolescent Program, where she quickly won over staff and clients alike with her enthusiasm, sense of humor, confidence, and clinical insight.

With her many talents (she’s also a multi-sport athlete) and one-of-a-kind personality, Molly is a wonderful addition to the DBHA family.

Erin
Erin White, Counselor

Erin graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of New Hampshire, Durham, in 2002. In that same year she earned her national certification for health education professionals (C.H.E.S.). Since then, she has taught a comprehensive health curriculum, including biological, psychological, and social health to seventh and eighth grade students at the Hollis Brookline Middle School. Erin has also served the community as a volunteer for Nashua's Neighborhood Health Center, The Southern NH HIV/AIDS Task Force, and Habitat for Humanity.

With her many professional and volunteer commitments, it's a wonder that Erin finds time for family, friends, and fun, but she does! Watching football and baseball are particular interests. Erin brings the passionate energy of a sports fan and a health teacher to Direction for the benefit of all!

Victoria
Victoria Lee, Counselor

Before coming to Direction, Victoria had been employed at the Nashua Children’s Home as a Residential Counselor. For several years, Victoria has distinguished herself as a special young worker in the field of human services. She leads by example, bringing an unusual blend of serious focus and loving concern to her work with children and families. Direction benefits immensely from her unique ability to connect with all types of people.
Victoria is a true life-long learner, she is a certified yoga instructor, and her continuing, personal education includes her study of psychology and farming.


Blake-Small
Blake Deboisbriand, Counselor

A native of the Granite State, Blake graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a BA in Psychology in 2004. From 2005 to 2007, she distinguished herself as an especially skilled Residential Counselor at The Nashua Children’s Home. Blake then applied her talents as a Child and Adolescent Care Manager and Functional Support Provider at The Community Council of Nashua (now Greater Nashua Mental Health Center) from 2007 to 2010. After taking some time off to start a family of her own, Blake joined Direction. Clients and Staff alike benefit immensely from Blake's seemingly inexhaustible, down-to-earth, positive energy.

In addition to raising her darling daughter, Blake enjoys landscaping, flower and vegetable gardening, and arts and crafts. A true exemplar of a strong, New Hampshire woman, Blake has even worked as a roofer! DBHA is lucky to have Blake on the team!

Maureen
Maureen Massman, Counselor

Maureen graduated from Saint Anselm College with a BA in Psychology in 2006. She immediately applied her education in the field of human service. Since the spring of 2006, she has been an intern in the Domestic Violence Unit of the Manchester District Court, supervising counseling requirements for all domestic violence defendants.

Clients at Direction look forward to Maureen’s brilliant smile and attitude, which seem to symbolize the high-energy style she brings to her work with adolescents.

Samantha-B-Small
Samantha Beene, Counselor

Samantha graduated from Southern New Hampshire University with a BA in Psychology in 2009. She has been dedicated to child care and human service since 2005, first working with military and other families in Maine and New Hampshire to supplement their strained parenting resources, then as a Mentor for Big Brother Big Sister Organization of Portsmouth, NH. In 2008, Samantha worked with alcohol and drug involved teens at Seacoast Youth Services Center in Seabrook, NH.

Samantha energy and passion shines through in her bright and caring attitude, always on display in her dedication to human services, as well as her enjoyment of art, running and basketball. Samantha promises to be another, wonderful DBHA Associate.

Shawna-B-Small
Shawna Boles, Psy. D., Therapist

Shawna recently earned her Psy. D. degree from Antioch University. She brings a wealth of academic and personal experience to her work at Direction. After earning a degree in Humanities from the New College in San Francisco, Shawna went on to earn her Masters degree in Social Work at The State University of New York. In 2008, Shawna earned her M.S in Clinical Psychology from Antioch before beginning her doctoral work there. Shawna has pursued her interest in human services through varied, professional and volunteer experiences, including conducting psychotherapy for the Massachusetts Mental Health Center, assisting in Forensic Assessment in Manchester, as a Volunteer for the Cotlands Ophanage in Johannesburg, South Africa, where she worked one-on-one with children living with HIV/AIDS, helped with outreach to neighboring Soweto and worked with grandmothers supporting children with HIV/AIDS.

Shawna's rich experience and careful dedication to her work is a tremendous asset to the client families of Direction.


Lisa
Lisa de Haan, Counselor

Lisa is currently studying for her Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling at Rivier College with an anticipated graduation May, 2012. In 2009, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of New Hampshire, Durham. During her internship her responsibilities included Individual and Group Crisis intervention and Intake Assessment. Her related coursework included Theories of Counseling, Techniques of Counseling, Group Counseling, Basic Human Interaction, Child and Adolescent Development, Advanced Psychology of Human Development, Career Development, Career Development, and Career and Lifestyle Development.

Lisa is another of the energetic and passionate, young human services workers whose presence is appreciated by DBHA clients and staff alike.
