Happy Birthday, DBHA!
January 28th marked our first anniversary in operation. Some statistics from our first year of service:
• 198 Intakes with adolescents were conducted.
• Of those, 85% enrolled in our program.
• Average length of stay has been about 13 days.
• Of the adolescents admitted, 86% were able to avoid inpatient hospitalization.
• Initial Census (January 28, 2008): 2 Adolescents
• Current Census (February 5, 2009): 19 Adolescents
It is important to note that prior to our Intensive Outpatient Program, most of the adolescents who have enrolled here would have needed hospital-level care. We have also enabled those adolescents who are hospitalized to have shorter stays there, as they can come to us as a “step-down” program.
We look forward to another year of growth and expanded mental health services to area adolescents. As always, we thank all our staff and other supporters!
